Last year my sister told me about this idea. I’m not sure if she made it up or if she saw it somewhere else, but the idea was to make a list of 24 things to do in 2024.
Now, I’m a list maker. Always have been, always will be. I love a to-do list. Sometimes I write things down that I’ve already done, just so I can cross them off. I know, I’m sad. You might even recall a blog post I wrote years ago about my ’30 before 30′ which you can read here and have a good chuckle at.
So as soon as she told me about this idea, I was game. We’d just come back from our year travelling in Asia and I wanted 2024 to be a year of making up for all the things I’d missed back home while I was away, like seeing friends and family and going on more mini adventures close to home.

24 in 2024…
I decided that my word for 2024 would be ‘slow’. I wanted to make a list that would be full of nice, calming activities, seeing friends and family and settling back in to UK life. As a side note, I find it really grounding to pick a word for the year and reflect on that every now and then.
Unfortunately, I was a bit ambitious with my 24 in 2024. I completed a rather measly 16 items on my list. Welp. Among the ones I completed were: climb 10 new Wainwrights, go to a Pilates class and make a loaf of bread from scratch. Among the ones I did not complete were: visit a Christmas market, read a classic novel and go climbing.
Despite not ticking everything off the list, 2024 was such a wonderful year. I travelled to three new countries, watched my best friend get married, climbed mountains (before my knee gave up on me), got a promotion and created a beautiful home with the love of my life. Not bad hey.
25 in 2025…
I’ve decided my word for 2025 is going to be ‘focus’. Let’s hope it sticks 🙂
Because I’m a classic Instagram-generation over-sharer, I’m going to share my 25 in 2025 list with you.

- Go to the cinema
- Go for a picnic

What do you reckon? Why not draft up a list for the year and give it a go? If you do, let me know some of yours in the comments!

Brilliant Liv! There are some things on there that I’d love to share with you (not just the baklava and coffee & walnut cake). Hopefully we can go camping at some point… 😎
